Oct. 2 Come and check out Cine Salon this Mon, Oct. 3 @ 7pm as we screen and recognize the top six films of this year's 29 Days Later!: Epiphany, Only, Corporate Stiffs, Dating Advice.., Partners in Crime and Indecision!
Sept. 22 Attn history buffs! One of our sponsors, the MD Film Office, has asked that we spread the word about an exclusive preview of the PBS doc "The War of 1812" with a special Q&A with Filmmaker Larry Hott and other 1812 film projects at Landmark's Harbor East Theater Mon., 9/26 @ 7 pm. Sept. 16 The judges have spoken! Here are the overall results:
Grand Prize winner "Epiphany," Level 17 Films, Dave Kratz (Group B winner)
Runner Up : "Only," Escape Reality Productions, Rob Zeman, Jr. (Group A winner)
Third Place: "Corporate Stiffs," Dropped Frames, Bradley Tehann
Fourth Place (tie): "Dating Advice...", SkyWatch Studios, Cisco Davis, Jr.; "Partners in Crime," Steel Corset Productions, Jeanie Clark
Fifth Place: "Indecision," Plaskett Forest Films, Ernest Hampson
The top six (due to fourth place tie) above will be screened at the Oct. 3 Cine Salon, where we will present the prizes to the winning filmmakers. All are welcome to attend!
Rounding out the top 10 (although not being shown at Cine Salon) are:

Thanks to our terrific judges Max Weiss, Wil S. Hylton, Chuck Duncan, Stacie Jones-Gentzler, and KJ Mohr who had some very difficult choices and congratulations to all the participants and winners. We look forward to seeing you at the Oct. 3 Cine Salon and/or next summer's 4th Annual 29 Days Later Film Project, tentatively scheduled to start the second week in July 2012!
August 18 Congrats to Dave Kratz of Level 17 Films and his Group B winning film Epiphany! We were so excited to see Wednesday night sell out and more than 350 attend both screenings. The judges are now deliberating and will name the grand prize winner, runner up and overall top 5 films which will be shown at the Oct 5 Cinelounge. Stay tuned - their decision is expected by Sept. 15 and will be announced here and on Facebook!

July 14 Great to see all the energy and filmmakers at a packed Marquee Lounge as we revealed the prop - a colorful pinwheel! We can already tell this is shaping up to be the best 29 Days Later yet. Rounding out our two dozen teams are Level 17 Films and 29 Days veterans Linkwater Films and Chick Flicks Productions. Welcome guys and gals and see everyone in 28 days!
July 13 Tonight is the big kickoff and we're excited to have 24 teams! Team leaders, please be sure you or at least one team member is available to pick up the prop, sign a release form and go over the rules. Participants and anyone interested are welcome to stop by the new Marquee Lounge at the Creative Alliance at 7 pm, socialize with filmmakers and have a drink or two!

So nice to see many of our favorite teams from last year returning. Nine are already signed up and there will be some fierce competition this year!

Congrats to the winning film, Running Out of Time by Here to There Productions, followed by Plaskett Forest Films' When the Reaper comes and MobTV's Speed Date! Thanks to the Creative Alliance, who allowed us to present the awards and show the top three at last night's CineLounge.
August 19
More than 300 people attended the screenings last night and were treated to some fabulous and very creative films. Congratulations to those who worked on films and thanks to everyone -- filmmakers, sponsors, volunteers and audience members -- who made our 2nd year such a success. Can't wait until next year!
August 18

Films are due today at 7:30 (7:59 at the absolute latest) at the Waterfront Hotel. We will be upstairs starting at 6:30 if anyone wants to drop their film off early!

Big kickoff is Wednesday night, 7 p.m. at the Waterfront Hotel 2nd floor backroom in Fells Point! Team leaders or a representative from their team must attend to sign paperwork, get the lowdown on the rules and pick up the mysterious prop. Team members are welcome to attend, have a drink or two, and meet other filmmakers!

Welcome last year's defending 2nd place team Mobtelevision and new team Fifth Underground! Due to the number of teams, we will be dividing into two screening groups of 7 and 9:15. This means we can accept up to 5 more teams for any last minute registrants. (Walk-ups are allowed if we have enough room).

It's official - kick off for 29 Days Later is Wednesday, July 14 at 7 p.m. and drop off is Thursday, August 12, 7 p.m. at Waterfront Hotel in Fells Point! Congratulations to 1st Place Winner Jeanie Clark for "The Red-Headed Menace;" 2nd Place Winner Jon Schaumburg of MobTV for "Tiny" and 3rd place Winner Virginia Ryker for "Apnea." Also recognized were: Best Actress Elicia Moran from "Webcam;" Best Actor Wes Throneberry from "Tiny;" Best Cinematography "Apnea;" Best Use of Prop "MC's Lap Zapper" and Best Pet went to the cat from "Webcam." Kudos to all the filmmakers!
